Character Creation
If you have never made a character before, the GM's will walk you through making your first one. If you have experience with WWN, the GM's will still need to be present for any rolls being made. Dark Below will use the following rules for characters:
- Characters will be created by the standard rules.
- Players may choose between rolling attributes and the standard array.
- Character options will be allowed from the Free Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Atlas of the Latter Earth. If you are not experienced in WWN, we recommend you stick to the free rules. These rules will cover 90% of the character options, and the other 10% require a greater understanding of the rules.
- The Polymath Foci will not be allowed in this campaign.
- Players start with one character slot. You may purchase additional character slots by spending 2 XP each. It is up to the player to determine the relationships between characters they control. Characters owned by a single player may interact with each other just as characters owned by separate players; e.g. they may trade or gift items between themselves and share information.
- When a player has an available character slot, they may make a new character.
Character Advancement
- Players will earn one XP per expedition session, with a max of 3 per season (RT month).
- XP is earned by the player, not the character. Players who have purchased additional character slots may assign earned XP to any character they wish, even if that character did not participate in the activity that earned the XP. XP can be banked until spent, allowing a player to keep XP until level-up, in the event their character dies. This does allow on occasion a character to enter the game at level 2 if the previous character died during their 3rd expedition.
- Dark Below will use the Fast Leveling rules.
- Players earn one bonus XP per 6 DTA's spent.
- When leveling up, a GM can assist with any questions you may have.
