The legend of the Silver Blade is a story whispered in hushed tones—a mythical sword of impossible power, lost for over a century in the ruins of a fallen city. But some myths are chillingly real. A fanatical army of warriors known as the Nottsver has returned to the Eleysian Islands, cutting a bloody swath in their relentless hunt for the Blade, believing it holds the key to unleashing an age of endless night. Their goal: the forbidden, mist-shrouded Isle of Alfirhavn, a land the Vesprian empire abandoned as lost.
Against this rising tide of war, three disparate lives are drawn into the vortex. Krysaalis a'Ciermanuinn, an orphan and a scholar, is summoned from her quiet life by a secret order to undertake a mission that will send her back to the homeland she barely remembers. Talathis Dawntreader, the skilled but unrecognized son of a legendary Duke, navigates his father’s ship, the Sea Wolf , on a diplomatic run he doesn't understand, sailing directly into the heart of the conflict. And Qianna, a slave bound to a ruthless shadowmancer, is forced to use her unique gifts to guide the enemy toward the very weapon that could ensure their victory.
A scholar with a forgotten past, a pilot trapped in his father's shadow, and a spy yearning for freedom. Their paths are on a collision course at the edge of the known world, where the first battle in a war for the soul of the age is about to begin. The legend is stepping out of the shadows, and it demands a wielder.
