A cave....somewhere.
"I have felt rumblings," a male voice growled from the edge of the cave.
"What kind of rumblings, Telnarok?" another male responded sounding curious, the scratching of a quill on paper underscoring his words.
"The kind that causes even the oldest trees to tremble, Orhalis."
"Is it him?" A feminine voice that crackled like flames cut in earnestly.
"He still slumbers, Sireal." A quieter female voice replied. "But it is fitful."
"What should we do?" A smoother male voice asked.
"We should seek out Vaelion. He has wallowed long enough and it is his responsibility to deal with him." A third female interjected evenly. "If he awakens, the results will be disastrous for the mortals."
"Should we awaken more mortals, Velmira?" Sireal asked eagerly.
"Quality would be better over quantity," came the reply over more quill scratches.
"Would Vaelion allow it?" Telnarok asked.
"If he doesn't step up, then it is our duty to prepare the mortals. The more we can prepare them, the better the end will be." the third male pointed out.
"I shall implore Vaelion to help us. In the mean time, it would be best if we prepared champions. If the worst comes to pass, they might be the only hope we can offer the mortals."
"But we haven't raised champions since the First Age and look where that got us then." The quiet female cut in. "What will make this any better or different? The mortals get a taste of power and they force the world off course."
"It is our only option, Ithirae. Unless we wish the mortals to fall to his wrath." A quiet moment passed. "Are we in agreement? Get Vaelion's help and raise our champions."
Murmurs of agreement rang through the cave.
